Animal Browser

Animal Browser

Animal browser is a browser used for browsing the internet. It's a simple browser built on ms-visual basic by Hemanth Srinivasan. This browser was mainly built for personal purposes but afterwords it was open for all in the website: http://www.animalsoftwares.blogspot.com. (This website is powered by blogger)

History

Animal browser was built for the first time in ms-visual basic on around the month of may. The first version was known as 'Animal Browser V1.1'. It could only navigate to a page and had contained totally basic features. It just had a go button and a text box to rite the URL.
In the second version it had similar features but this time it was a little more advanced. It had a in-built search bar where you can search for information by choosing a search engine. It also had a menu bar with options like theme, print, print preview and a progress bar which can show the progress of your web page.
In the third version the aim was to give the users more bigger browsing space so the toolbox was transparent and should be hidden hen in use. But the problem was when you want to open the toolbox you had to every time click a button present on the edge of the browsing space and sometimes the users might mistake a link present on the browsing space to be the button.
The fourth version was similar and was a new browser. The errors on the previous version which have been replaced made it into a new browser. This version also had a toolbox whose button was not present in the browsing space but on a menu bar. The status bar was more powerful than the previous versions. It could show you fro which website the pages you are browsing are originated from. This version also had new themes.
The fifth version's aim was to give you a more faster and simple browsing. So the address bar was made more powerful. You can just type the name of the website and click go. It will automatically write the whole URL on its own.
The sixth version had a tab control. This version also had more advanced search engines with sensible progress bars. This browser gives you more faster browsing and allows you to open several webpages in one windows by using tab control. The tab control design took a very long time for research and designing.

The seventh version  was totally enhanced. This browsers experience was a very good experience. This browser had a very advanced security including the allowance of dynamic storage of History and favourites to have track of things. This browser had the close button on the tabcontrol itself which reduced the space of windows and gave a wide space for browsing. In this version Animal Browser went into the computers of many Visual Basic Programmers who were very astonished to see a browser something like this in Visual Basic. As Visual Basic did not provide too good options for tab controls and web browsing, we had to make our own tools. Animal Browser also had the pop - up blocker features that also stopped you from getting irritated after entering some sites which regularly opens up new windows and disturbs your current browsing session. Although this browser was not as accurate as the older versions. This browser has many bugs though like:

When you open up a new tab it tells you icon not found
The close buttons does not appear when more than one windows is open.
The favicons doesn't appear as fast after the page has finished loading.

The above bugs will be fitted in the eighth version.

The eighth version was promised to give you a more better browsing expierience and also the bugs will be fitted. As the world is moving to cloud computing Animal Browser needs more plugins, additions and performance which will be a very good browser. The work is Underway for the eighth version.
